Sports Massage
Sports massage at our clinic is about more than easing tight muscles. We use techniques such as trigger point therapy, stretching, and active release techniques to get rid of tension, speed up recovery, and restore movement. Combined with chiropractic care, it becomes part of a wider approach that not only helps relieve pain but also supports long-term strength, mobility, and injury prevention.
What’s the difference between Sports Massage and a Deep Tissue Massage?

Both treatments work on the muscles and soft tissues, but the focus and purpose are slightly different.
Sports Massage is a targeted, clinical treatment designed to help with movement, recovery, and performance. It’s ideal if you have a specific issue — such as muscle tightness, an overuse injury, or post-training soreness — or if you want to improve flexibility and prevent injury. It often includes stretching, trigger point therapy, and techniques tailored to your activity or sport.
Deep Tissue Massage, on the other hand, is a general, full-body treatment that uses slower, deeper pressure to release chronic tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. It’s great for people who don’t necessarily play sports but feel stiff, tense, or stressed from everyday activities or posture.
In short: Sports Massage – focused, corrective, and goal-oriented. Deep Tissue Massage – broad, restorative, and deeply relaxing. Your therapist will always adapt the session to your needs — so if you’re unsure, we can help you decide what’s most suitable when you arrive.

What’s the right treatment for my issue – Sports Massage or Chiropractic care?

If you’re currently in pain or discomfort, it’s best to start with Chiropractic care. Chiropractors are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat both joint and muscle-related problems, so even if the issue feels muscular, we can identify the root cause and make sure nothing more serious is contributing. If we feel that you’d benefit from Sports Massage alongside or after your chiropractic treatment, we’ll guide you accordingly.
Chiropractic care focuses on the joints, spine, and nervous system. It’s the best option if you’re dealing with acute or chronic pain, stiffness, or restriction that feels deep, sharp, or joint-related — for example, back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, or joint dysfunction.
Sports Massage focuses more on the muscles and soft tissues. It’s ideal for muscular tightness, tension, overuse injuries, and post-exercise soreness. Massage helps to relieve strain, improve circulation, and enhance flexibility — making it especially helpful for those who are active, sit for long hours, or feel general muscular fatigue.
In many cases, the best results come from combining both. Chiropractic treatment can restore joint function and relieve nerve irritation, while Sports Massage supports the surrounding muscles and helps maintain those improvements

What should I expect during my first Sports Massage session?

Your initial session begins with a short discussion to identify the areas you’d like to focus on and to understand your goals — whether that’s easing tension, improving flexibility, or supporting recovery. If needed, a brief assessment will be carried out to identify muscular imbalances or areas of restriction. The treatment itself will then be tailored to you, combining a range of advanced soft tissue techniques to address your specific needs. At the end of your session, your therapist may provide guidance on stretches or self-care strategies to help prolong the benefits of your treatment.

What should I wear to my appointment?
You can bring or wear comfortable shorts or underwear — whatever you feel most at ease in. During the treatment, you’ll be covered with large towels at all times, and only the area being worked on will be exposed to ensure your privacy and comfort.

How often should I have a Sports Massage?
This depends on your goals and lifestyle. If you’re recovering from an injury or dealing with ongoing muscular tension, weekly or fortnightly sessions may be beneficial initially. For general maintenance, many people find that a massage every 4–6 weeks helps keep tension at bay and supports mobility and performance. Your therapist will advise on the most suitable frequency based on your individual needs.
