Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Get in touch with our team and we will be happy to answer your questions and help you book the right appointment.

New Patients

Your first appointment is designed to fully understand your problem and how we can best help you. Your initial visit includes a detailed case history, a thorough physical examination, an explanation of findings and appropriate treatment and/or rehabilitation where clinically indicated. We always take the time to explain what we find, what it means and what your options are before proceeding.

Where appropriate and clinically indicated, we aim to provide your first treatment during your initial visit. This ensures we can start your care immediately, help relieve pain and assess how your body responds so that we can plan the most effective next steps.

Please wear comfortable, non restrictive clothing that allows you to move easily. If needed, gowns and shorts are available at the clinic.

Booking an Appointment

Appointments can be booked online via our booking system or by calling us. A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Once booked, you will receive an intake form to complete before your visit, allowing us to make the most of your appointment time.

No referral is needed to see us. You can book an appointment directly without a GP or specialist referral, giving you fast and convenient access to care.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care is not only for back or neck pain. It focuses on diagnosing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions that affect how your body moves and functions. This includes spinal conditions, joint pain such as shoulders, hips and knees, headaches, nerve-related pain and many tendon or overuse injuries. You can explore the specific conditions we treat in the sections above.

Chiropractic care is evidence-based and aims to restore movement, reduce pain and improve function. Spinal manipulation and joint mobilisation work through several well-supported mechanisms, including:

Ā

  • Improving joint movement and reducing mechanical stiffness
  • Modulating pain processing within the nervous system, including spinal and central pathways
  • Influencing muscle tone and reflex activity around irritated or overloaded joints.

Ā

Research shows that these effects are neurological rather than structural — adjustments do not ā€œput bones back into placeā€ or change disc shape. The audible sound sometimes heard during an adjustment (cavitation) is simply the release of gas within the joint, and treatment success does not depend on an audible pop. Chiropractic care is most effective when combined with rehabilitation, education and movement-based strategies tailored to your needs.Ā

Chiropractic care may be helpful if you are experiencing musculoskeletal pain, stiffness, restricted movement or recurring flare-ups. Additionally, if you want to improve how your body moves and copes with everyday or sporting demands.

During your assessment, we determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you. If it is not, we will discuss alternative options or refer you to the most suitable clinician within or outside the clinic.
